During an otherwise routine visit to Clearwater, Florida in spring 2015, my city-slicking family decided to do something unusual: a paddling trip down central Florida's Hillsborough river. Doug, a family friend and semi-pro angler, played the part of UV-protected river guide for the afternoon.
